The program series “New Expressions of Data” which will be organized with the participation of technology professionals, artists and researchers producing projects in the fields of machine learning, artificial intelligence, information systems design and digital archive infrastructure, will start with Channel Studio’s presentation. Channel, a New York-based design and technology studio and working with museums, archives and cultural institutions, is developing new methods for detailed analysis of online collections.
The three-year work-focused series, which is carried out in collaboration with SALT, is being carried out by Digilogue, a digital infrastructure and system development partner, in order to transfer the Istanbul Encyclopedia Archive, which was taken over by Kadir Has University, to the digital media and to be accessible through online software.
Will Denton and Seth Kranzler, the founders of Channel Studio, will present the New Archive: Machine Learning as a Design Tool (English), by examining the usage of machine learning from the past to the present. In addition, the place of software designs in the processing and editing of written and visual data through deep learning and other machine learning methods will be evaluated. The program, which will also provide resource suggestions for creative industry representatives, is open and free of charge to everyone, especially students, artists, researchers and designers.
